This paper is a new translation and interpretation of the essay by Leibniz which has come to be known as “Leibniz’s Philosophical Dream.” used many different literary styles throughout his career, but Dream” unique insofar it combines apparent autobiography with dreamscape. The content also somewhat surprising. reminiscent Plato, describes transition from existence in cave more enlightened mode being outside it. But, contrast usual identification “rationalist,” that valorised involves cognition intuitive supra-rational. begins followed an essay. I conclude considering ramifications my for our conception Leibniz’s philosophy.
